Ellen Lanet: I am representing an educational docudrama (83 min) featuring inspiring stories about the positive contributions African Americans made to the United States during the Civil War Era beneficial for 5th through 11th graders. Many of these stories have not been written before. The talented and inspirational writer / director, Tyrone Young, heard these stories while at a Civil War reenactment near Orlando, Florida from an elderly story teller, Mrs. Mary Fears. These stories chronicle the unique African American experiences. Tyrone decided to produce a film, "Filling the Gap", that would inspire black students by highlighting their positive rich heritage and provide new knowledge to all students of positive role models conquering adversity. It is Tyrone and my goal to have this docudrama in as many Los Angeles schools as possible by Black History month, February 2010. I hope you will agree. Actually we are shooting for the entire State of California. Our students deserve a more well rounded exposure to history. I look forward to meeting you at the screening. Please share this invitation with all your US History Teachers and any other interested colleagues. Thank you, Ellen Lanet www.essenceofhistory.com "Filling the Gap" - California Representative date: Monday October 19, 2009           time: 6 pm           place: Clover Avenue Elementary School - LAUSD           address: 11020 Clover Ave., Los Angeles, 90034 rsvp: ellenilanet@gmail.com           website: essenceofhistory.com
